My name is Abhinav Sonkar. I am a Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering student from Nagpur, India. I began blogging in 2006, but really got into it few months later, when I realized that there were people listening to what I had to say.

I was always quite good in my English lessons and together with the digital technology, I decided to maintain a blog when most of my friends where happy quoting their e-mail addresses! Today I am glad that I did. Through this Blog, I want to share everything I know about computers and things which are as yet unknown.

Zen Computing

First of all, this blog is not intended to preach about Buddhism and experiential wisdom that is Zen. But I am deeply interested in the philosophy and the simplicity extended by Zen.

Instead I want you to view your computer as a classical piece of technology that, if utilized in a useful way, can improve your efficiency at work, home and everywhere else. I refer to this as Zen Computing.

Computer Hook-up

I was always fascinated with this multi-purpose idiot box (as I like to call it!), and the instant gratification it offered! I got myself a computer during the start of my 10th grade and I admit, at that time, I had failed to notice the Start button in my Windows 98 desktop screen! I had no clue about the highly user-friendly environment of Windows as we know today. I remember playing those cheeky DOS based games (esp. Prince) on my father’s office computer which had Windows 3.1 installed (That was way back in 1995!).

But very soon I got the hang of it and realized that I really liked everything about the computer and was quite a natural with it. Soon enough I surpassed my dad’s knowledge of MS-DOS commands! Through this long journey that still continues, I experienced the divine contentment of successfully executing a hard fought C++ Program, the adrenaline rush of a 0.75 millisecond margin victory in Need for Speed and extending my knowledge of computers to a reasonable extent that at least my neighbors and friends considered me before calling the technician! I am still having a great time with it!
